Mt View Orchards, Grateful Vineyards, and Fields of Flowers

Mt. View Orchards is a 50-acre apple and pear farm 2.5 miles from Parkdale and the Old Parkdale Inn. For over fifty years, the McAlexander family has raised delicious, top-grade, environmentally sustainable fruit, establishing Mt. View as an important fruit grower in the Hood River Valley and Columbia Gorge region.

In the beautiful Hood River Valley, Grateful Vineyard offers a welcoming gathering place where wine, craft beer, cider, and sweeping mountain views come together. Set among the orchards and vineyards of the valley, this relaxed destination invites visitors to linger over locally crafted beverages while taking in views of Mount Hood rising above the surrounding farmland.

Katrina McAlexander is a 3rd generation farmer, fermenter, and nurse practitioner. Grateful Vineyard opened Memorial Day weekend of 2019 as the very first winery/cidery/brewery in Mount Hood, Oregon and the southernmost vineyard in the Columbia River Gorge. Weaving together farming, fermentation and hospitality fills Katrina’s life with joy and meaning.

Field of Flowers:

Over the last few years the flower fields have been greatly expanded. Plush dahlias, as well as sunflowers, hollyhocks, cosmos, and a wide variety of other flowers. Whether you are looking for exquisite, fresh-cut blooms to complete the arrangements for your wedding or event, to beautify your restaurant, or just to add color to your kitchen table, you’re sure to find them here. Photographers, you won’t want to miss capturing the vivid colors of our flower fields beneath majestic Mt. Hood. As is always the case, Mother Nature will dictate bloom times but be sure to enjoy flower display all summer long

Tulips – Early May is a beautiful time to visit a U-pick tulip field, especially around Mother’s Day

Hollyhocks and wildflowers – end of June or 1st part of  July

Sunflowers – August and September – Sunflower bouquets last longer than any other flower so take home a bundle to enjoy for weeks.
