Three Oregon Scenic Byways lead to the Old Parkdale Inn
Travel through the Columbia River Gorge on the Historic Columbia River Highway Scenic Byway, HCRH, and around majestic Mt Hood on the Mt. Hood Scenic Byway. For the sustainable traveler the HCRH and the Mt Hood Scenic Byway have been combined to create one of six Electric Byways in Oregon, the Mt Hood and Columbia River Gorge Electric Byway.
Experience the rugged wilderness, fertile farmlands and charming small towns that lie just outside of Portland. Drivers of vehicles with a range of 60 miles or less should travel the Mt. Hood and Columbia River Gorge Electric Byway in the counter clockwise direction.
Folks passing through Parkdale can, while charging up, walk into town, less than two blocks, and choose between Solera Brewery, Apple Valley BBQ or the Mt Hood Creamery for a delicious meal, a cold beer, or a scoop of ice cream made fresh in house. Moby Coffee Roasters offers Free Trade and Organic coffee in bulk, to go, or in their cozy coffee bar, open Friday through Monday. Or
You’re welcome to relax in our gardens or front porch with a good book. If we’re home, please give us a shout out before you hit the road. We ask that your $5 charging fee be placed in the secure collection box on our front porch.

After serving our guests for 23 wonderful years we are hoping to gently step into retirement. We are immensely grateful for the opportunity to have hosted you all in creating lasting memories. The Hood River Fruit Loop is located in the beautiful Hood River Valley at the foot of majestic Mt. Hood offering you a variety of wines, fruits, vegetables, flowers, ciders, and food. Many outdoor adventures, such as kayaking, windsurfing, skiing, snow boarding, and hiking, await. Mt. Hood Meadows, Cooper Spur Mountain Resort, and Timberline Ski areas are only a short drive away, as is the Columbia River Gorge and Mt. Hood National Forest where trails and wildlife abound.
