Dry Creek Falls is a must-see waterfall adventure near Cascade Locks, Oregon, right off the Pacific Crest Trail . The 74-foot falls pour over basalt cliffs into a peaceful forest ideal for photos and a quick cool-down on a warm summer day.
The 4.4-mile roundtrip out-and-back hike is mostly shaded, easy to follow, and filled with beautiful scenery. The hike to Dry Creek Falls is moderate to difficult, only because it is a slow 2 mile climb. But oh, so worth it. We hiked in on a very cold, 20° New Years Day and found that the creek was flowing and the basalt covered with ice. Also some beautiful ice formations in the creek below the falls.
Dry Creek Falls is only one of over 70 waterfalls in the Columbia River Gorge. The heart of the Columbia River Gorge is located just a 30-minute drive from the Old Parkdale Inn.
Do not let the rain stop you from visiting Oregon’s Magnificent Waterfalls. They are even more powerful after the spring storms and snow melt. Come feel the mist of Oregon waterfalls on your face!
