There's No Place Like Home
By: Mary Pellegrini
We just returned from a month long vacation, journey if you will, in New Zealand. When we first met back in the early 70’s we had a notion to move there. Of course, one thing led to another and here we are, almost 40 years later, and we finally went. It was a wonderful escape. Warm weather, beautiful countrysides and cities, welcoming people.
But there really is no place like home. We are so blessed to live here in the Upper Hood River Valley of Oregon. We arrived home to fresh snow both in our yard and on ‘our’ mountain, Mt. Hood, Oregon’s tallest peak at 11,240 feet. Looking for outdoor adventure? Look no further. Ski, snowshoe, hike, bike, windsurf all within minutes of the inn. Wineries, fresh fruit, fall foliage. Shopping, dining, people and bird watching. Pick your passion, select the time of year you want to visit then visit the Old Parkdale Inn’s availability calendar and book your room. The blossom explosion is just a few weeks away, usually starting around the middle of April, as is a very popular event for visitors. Don’t wait too long to book your room.
