Granola ~ Tasty, Crunchy and Hot From the Oven
By: Mary Pellegrini
I make a batch of fresh granola about once a week. Bob’s Red Mill 5 Grain Rolled Cereal, seeds and nuts are sweetened with maple and rice syrup, baked, then combined with sweet dried fruit to make an excellent and nutritious start to your day. I don’t always measure but I will try to replicate my recipe here:
Combine 5 or 6 cups of Bob’s Red Mill 5 Grain Rolled Cereal with a quarter cup sunflower seeds, quarter cup sesame seeds, quarter cup slivered almonds and a half cup hazelnuts. You can add or substitute pumpkin seeds, walnuts, pecans. Mix it up! Set aside.
In a sauce pan, heat to boil equal parts of two of these sweeteners, about a quarter cup each, honey, maple syrup, agave or rice syrup with a quarter cup sunflower or canola oil. Pour over cereal mixture and stir to coat.
Spread on cookie sheet and bake in a 275 degree oven for 25 minutes. Remove from oven, stir is up and bake another 25 minutes. After it has cooled, add craisins, raisins, dried apples, banana chips, what ever you like. Maybe a little coconut.
We sprinkle it over our pears and apples, use it to top a yummy fruit crumb, or serve as is with milk, yogurt and fresh fruit. The wonderful aroma while baking is a bonus!

We now have EV and Tesla Chargers for guest use.
Outdoor adventures such as kayaking, windsurfing, skiing, snow boarding, and hiking await. Mt.
