Apples, Souls and Festivals

Cemetery Tales: The 10th Anniversary Performance of this wildly popular event will be held
September 20, 21, and 22. The hearts and souls of this year’s selected Idlewilde Cemetery residents will come alive as local actors, dressed in period costumes, tell the life stories of those former citizens. Tickets are now on sale through www.brownpapertickets.com or at The History Museum, (541) 386-6772.

Hood River Hops Fest, September 21 ~ Brewers gather each in downtown Hood River to share their fresh-hop beer creations. The family-friendly event features more than 40 breweries with more than 60 fresh-hop beers, plus a variety of food vendors, live music, and an awesome collectible mug

Hood River Harvest Fest: October 11-13  More than 120 farmers, artisan food producers, wineries, cideries and artists will gather along the Columbia River to celebrate the region’s bounty. (Our Chinook Suite is available due to a cancellation)

Harvest Festivals Galore: As we progress into summer and fall the festivals and celebrations begin. The Hood River County Fruit Loop is a 35 mile driving tour through the fertile Hood River Valley in Northern Oregon. A collection of farms, orchards, vineyards and wineries, the drive can take as little as an hour but we suggest planning a day or two to get the most out of your journey.

Let us be home base for exploring and enjoying the Hood River Valley and Mt Hood National Forest.  After a full day, you’ll love the peace and tranquility of the Old Parkdale Inn.  Relax in the gardens, perhaps with a glass of wine from a bottle you picked up at a local winery or our wine cabinet.  We can even have a bonfire, roast some s’mores, if you’d like.

Outdoor adventures such as kayaking, windsurfing, skiing, snow boarding, and hiking await.  Mt. Hood Meadows, Cooper Spur Mountain Resort, and Timberline Ski areas are only a short drive away, as is the vast Mt. Hood National Forest where trails and wildlife abound.  We partner with Timberline Ski Areas allowing us to offer discounted lift vouchers to our guests.  Stay at the Inn and take advantage of our partnership with Wet Planet Whitewater to receive $10 your raft adventure.
