Water Prayers in Hood River...
By: Mary Pellegrini
.. and around the Globe. Last evening we were blessed to have Grandmother Agnes Baker Pilgrim conduct a blessing of the waters along the banks of the mighty Columbia River. Grandmother Agnes, of the Siletz tribe from Southern Oregon, is a member of the International Council of Thirteen Indigenous Grandmothers and yesterday Water Blessings were held around the globe. Drumming, chanting, and sage infused air created a very special aura for prayer and reflection.
“We are Water Babies. Do not to forget to say thank you every day for the water you drink, the water you bathe in. Without our Mother water we would not survive.”
